Ken Kalfus /// A Disorder Peculiar to the Country
About ten months into a marriage and morbidly entertained by the “how the fuck did it come to this when we used to be in love?” phase of other partnerships. Which is not, Kalfus announces, a question the participants will answer—though if they won’t or can’t is a matter elided, as if to deny the past its multiplication of readings (hello, 9/11). For all we understand it, catastrophe may as well not occur.
