Jesus, it almost stopped my heart how My Bloody Valentine the guitar scoops and stormy instrumentation are here. It might actually be the most spot-on impersonation I’ve ever heard, vocals aside. For all I love shoegaze, there are way too many bands just dicking around with pedals—finding out that a group like Soren Well has the songwriting chops necessary to be celebrated outside the scene (see what I did there?) is a rare and precious discovery.
