Why We Fight #1

agrammar:

Much-appreciated readers and Tumblr-followers! Some of you will have already noticed this, but: today begins an adventure in which I write a monthly column for Pitchfork. It’s called “Why We Fight,” and the first installment — about Joanna Newsom, Lady Gaga, and how indie might eat itself — is live right now. It’s sort of a longer/shaggier introduction to the general goal of the column, which is to follow our conversations about music and try to unpack some of the dynamics inside them — what our arguments say about music, what they say about us, what they do to the way music’s made.

There’s even a fun video at the end! Thanks for reading this, or that, or anything. Your time is precious and always appreciated.

These Pitchfork columns—Through The Cracks, The Poptimist, etc.—are often good and heavy-hitting and the best content on there, as Nitsuh’s newest feature nimbly demonstrates.
